Notes about our Week

•We continued working on our monster paintings.  We added details by drawing and wrote about our monsters.

•Some of us began making costume props at our creative centre.

•We planted Scilla and Tulips bulbs in our outdoor garden.

•We put some Hyacinth bulbs into the fridge to try to wake them up so we can grow them.

•We continued to practice number recognition and counting.

*We are running low on tape and glue sticks.  If you are willing to donate any of these items, we would greatly appreciate it.

*We are also looking for a solution for a storage problem.  If you have a tall garbage can or wrapping paper holder that you are no longer using, we would love to have it to store some of our outdoor wood pieces in.  Thank you.

How you can support your child’s learning

•Please have your child read their Stinger reader to you each night.  Frequent reading will help your child become familiar with high-frequency words.

•Please remember to send your child’s Library and Stinger Reader bag to school every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so they can participate in book exchanges.

Important Information

•We love volunteers!  If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom, we would love to have a volunteer from 12-1:30 to read and play games with the children.  Please send an email if you are able and make sure that you have a valid police check that has been sent into the school office.

•We have a child in our class with a severe nut allergy.  (There are also several teachers and students in our school who have nut allergies).  Please ensure that you are sending nut free foods to school.  If your child consumes nuts, peanuts or peanut butter before coming to school, please ensure that they have brushed their teeth and washed their hands and face before coming to school.  “Wow Butter” and peanut butter alternatives will be not be permitted in the classroom.  Thank you for your cooperation in keeping school a safe place for all children.
