Notes about our Week

•We met our new kindergarten friends! We have been singing songs and playing games to get to know each others names.

•We are learning routines such as how to walk in a line, how to sit on the carpet for lessons and stories, how to prepare for lunch, how to change the sign when we use the washroom and how to clean up each centre.

•We read stories about starting school and talked about the different feelings that we may experience as we start school.

•We explored the centres.  Some of us visited a variety of centres and some of us picked our favourites.

•Ask your child who they played with each day.  This will help them learn that getting to know their classmates’ names is important part of socialization.

Important Information

•We have a child in our class with a severe nut allergy.  (There are also several teachers and students in our school who have nut allergies).  Please ensure that you are sending nut free foods to school.  If your child consumes nuts, peanuts or peanut butter before coming to school, please ensure that they have brushed their teeth and washed their hands and face before coming to school.  “Wow Butter” and peanut butter alternatives will be not be permitted in the classroom.  Thank you for your cooperation in keeping school a safe place for all children.
