Students have completed a few things for the grade 7 math program including their first math “Check in.” I’ve introduced a Portfolio in which they will be taking a snapshot of their tests, assignments etc. They are responsible for populating this database.

Later on this week we will be completing a Science Simulation.
It’s called the OH DEER SIMULATION GAME! Class 7.1 will be completing this simulation on Wednesday with one of Mrs. Mueller’s science classes. We will be documenting the results of the simulation, using our knowledge of algebra and the table of values.

Learning Goals
-to identify and describe food, water, and shelter as three essential components of habitat.
-that a population will continue to increase in size until some “limiting factors” are imposed.
– Limiting Factors – influences that prevent an animal population from reaching biotic (reproductive) potential.Examples of Limiting Factors – food, water, shelter, space, disease, predation, climatic conditions, pollution, hunting, poaching, habitat destruction and accidents.
-I will learn that limiting factors contribute to fluctuations in wildlife populations
and that nature is never in “balance” but is constantly changing
