• Childcare can be expensive, especially for families that are still adjusting to life in Canada.  The good news is that many parents or guardians with a child or children aged 12 or younger can access subsidy to help pay for childcare needs while they are working or going to school.  Interpreters can sometimes be available to help with the subsidy process over the phone, for families who may require language assistance.

You can apply for child care subsidy in one of three ways:

  • OneList Waterloo Region
Create an online account to apply for child care subsidy and look for child care near your work, home, or at your child’s school (including before and after school programs that run from 7am-6pm at public elementary schools on school days, PD days, Winter Break and March Break)
  • Online calculator and application
Fill out the calculator to see if you might qualify for subsidy before you complete the online application
  • Call 519-575-4400 to begin the application process over the phone
