Thank you for your patience and continued support as we navigate through labour discussions and job actions. Rest assured, we are continuing to learn and grow in Room 11!

During our Language time, we have been focusing on understanding our reading by telling key details from texts. We have been working our way through a collections of books that celebrate strong Black characters and historical figures. This also ties nicely into Social Studies as we learned about the history of  the underground railroad and the lives of early Black settlers.

In Math, we are reviewing 2-D shapes and will be exploring 3-D figures.  We are also continuing to review concepts in number sense and numeration. Please ensure that your child is doing a little math practice every night at home. This might look different for each family. Here is a link to an article with some useful ideas. During Science we are continuing to explore Strong and Stable Structures. In Social Studies we are exploring lives of early settlers.
