Dear families of 8C and 8D,

Welcome back to Westheights! My name is Monsieur Wettlaufer and I’ll be your child’s teacher for French, Drama, Health, and Dance this school year.

To give you a taste of what students are in for this year, understand that I value a well-rounded program. I offer opportunities to use technology, take part in inquiry, complete practical “real-life” tasks, and often give students choice in how they show their learning. I also feel strongly about creating a welcoming, inclusive learning environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

Please know that I value your input, questions, and feedback. I also do my best to communicate about what’s happening in the classroom in a number of ways :

Evaluation Letters
Several times each term, I send home a personalized letter with each student. This provides an update on the homework completion and evaluations to date and gives students and families the opportunity stay informed, ask questions, and make improvements.
