Evaluation Update
Students have received (via email) their writing evaluations for their final Genius Hour blog posts. In addition to feedback on the blog post, I have included each student’s term 2 writing mark to date. Please take a moment to have your child show you their assessment or forward it on to your email address.
Grade 7 Update
Genius Hour
- We are in the process of presenting our Genius Hour projects to the class. The focus is on strong oral and non-verbal presentation skills (i.e. choice of works, gestures, eye contact, visual displays, etc.)
Health
- We are wrapping up our nutrition unit with a test this Thursday, May 25.
- In the next health unit, we will learn about the importance of open communication in relationships, delaying sexual activity, and risks of sexually transmitted infections.
Dance
- We are exploring the use of space and movement to tell a short story.
Grade 8 Update
Subjunctive Mood
- We have learned or reviewed 6 different verb tenses this year and will now learn to use le subjonctif.
Health
- We are wrapping up our nutrition unit with a test this Thursday, May 25.
- In the next health unit, we will learn about the factors that affect decisions around sexual activity, how to identify sources of support regarding sexual health, and strategies to avoid sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy.
Dance
- We are exploring the concept of conflict in dance to tell short stories.
