Welcome back to Queen E, Lions! I’ve missed you over the past few months. In about a week’s time you’ll be returning to school, but before you do there are some things that I think you should be familiar with… our entrance and exit procedures. These procedures are very different than what you have been accustomed to at Queen E, but they are necessary in order to keep us all safe and healthy.

ENTRY PROCEDURE

  • At 8:48 AM you will hear a warning bell. This is to remind you to put on your mask and to line up using the guides on the ground. The guides will ensure that you are physically distancing from your classmates.
  • At 8:50 AM you will hear a second bell. At this point, Mr. Panagos, your teacher, will join you outside. He will be supervising you and your classmates.
    • Room 4 will enter the school first (because their class is further from the door than ours). One by one they will enter the doors and approach Mrs. Hogan who will be waiting inside. She will be providing students with hand sanitizer (Be prepared to be washing your hands and using hand sanitizer a lot this year!). Once they have sanitized their hands they will enter their classroom. Once Room 4 students have all entered, then Room 8 will enter, followed by us, Room 6. NOTE: We don’t have any students in Room 7 this fall.
    • We’ll follow the same procedure as Room 4 and 8 (enter the school one at a time, approach Mrs. Hogan to get hand sanitizer, enter our classroom). Once a third of our class has entered, Mr. Panagos will enter the school so that he can supervise the students that have already entered the classroom.
    • NOTE: Students will not be allowed into the school before 8:50 AM. This is so that Queen E staff can ensure that the safety measures put in place can be followed properly. If the weather is nasty make sure that you don’t arrive at school too early.
  • If you are late coming to school you’ll need to use the front doors of the school (the ones by the office). Line up on the guides painted on the walkway. Mrs. Mathers and/or Mrs. Strome will meet you there and let you in once the hallways have cleared (don’t forget to put on your mask). Then they’ll provide you with hand sanitizer and help you get signed in. Then it’s off to class.

EXIT PROCEDURE

  • Before the end of the day, Mr. Panagos will give you and your classmates an opportunity to wash your hands/sanitize your hands before dismissing you. Classrooms will be dismissed one at a time beginning with our classroom. Masks must be worn until you exit the school. Once outside you can take it off and enjoy some fresh air! NOTE: Make sure to take home your lunch bag and backpack as you shouldn’t be returning back inside the school.
    • Students that take the bus should meet by the large coniferous tree (a tree that has needle-shaped leaves) outside of Room 6.
