Room 14 Parents and Guardians,

The new school year has fallen upon us and your children and I have been busy in the classroom. So far we have begun to learn about human organ systems and making healthy choices in Science and Health. In Math we are representing numbers in a variety of ways in order to better grasp an understanding of numbers. We are learning how to choose appropriate books for our reading level,  how to develop ideas for a writing piece and examining spelling patterns in common brand names to help us spell words both familiar and unfamiliar to us in Language Arts. In Phys. Ed. we are playing cooperative games as a means to increase our physical fitness and to strengthen our classroom community.

I am not the only adult helping your children in the classroom. Mme. Stroebel is teaching French, Music and Dance this year. We have two Educational Assistants in our classroom (one in the morning and another in the afternoon), Miss Mores and Mrs. Passchier. Together we plan to make this a great year for our students.

I look forward to seeing and talking to you at the Meet the Teacher night on Wednesday, September 13th. Families wishing to grab some pizza before visiting the classroom can preorder using the yellow order form that was sent home with your children. Pizza will be available from 5:30 pm – 6:00 pm. Families are then welcome to visit their children’s classrooms from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
