What is Accelerated Level 1 OYAP

  • Accelerated Level 1 OYAP is a program partnership between School Boards, Training Delivery Agents (in this case Conestoga College) and the MLITSD that help students jump start their career as an apprentice by completing their Level 1 in-school training while still in high school.
  • Students are enrolled at Conestoga College as Level 1 apprentices for a period of 8 weeks during semester 2 and will complete Level 1 apprenticeship training along with other adult apprentices.  To pass these in-class college apprenticeship classes, students must earn a minimum grade of 70%.
  • Students are supported by their Cooperative Education teacher, their placement supervisor, and a WRDSB Dual Credit teacher at Conestoga College.
