This blog is for you to get to know, work and discuss with other students from many different schools in the Waterloo Region District School Board!  Monthly challenges (critical, creative, math and language) will be posted for you to discuss or try to figure out!  You are encouraged to read other people’s responses and respond to them!

Watch the “How this blog works video”, or read below!

Here are some tricks and tips for you to use:

  1. Be sure to comment using your first name only and school name.  For example Name @ School Name. (You will have to click on the post, in order to see where to comment!!)
  2. If you do comment to someone, be sure to start your comment with their name and school!
  3. Be sure to read the comments after you have posted, to see if you have something to add, if someone has commented to you or asked you a question!
  4. It may look like there is no picture for a post (Optical Illusions, for example), but if you click on the post title, you will see it!!

You can search for the challenges by clicking on your grade on the left hand side of this page.  There are monthly challenges posted each, found in your grade monthly folder!  Be sure to comment on posts you have read to me or to each other!

This year, we are using this on-line tool as a resource for you!   If you have any questions or suggestions, be sure to ask them!  If you do not want something published, be sure to write “Please do not publish this!”

Good luck and I look forward to working with you in the CLOUDS:)

  5. Hello. I am normal. I am a person. Not like other people… My family are robots. My teacher is a robot. The only other thing in this world that is not a robot is a mouse that climbs ladders. His name is mouse. Very creative, right? He lives in my bedroom and snores like a whining elephant. It is very annoying. Anyway, about a week ago I found a boat near the sea. It was very suspicious looking. When I went on the boat I immediately flipped over the boat. It was very scary. Thankfully, I am a human and I didn’t die because of the water. When I swam up to the top, I saw a falling umbrella. Unfortunately, I was right under where it landed. After I almost drowned the second time, I started to hallucinate. I dreamed that there was a plate, fork and knife. The plate was weird though. There was a small hole in the middle of the plate. It looked like a… keyhole!!! “Maybe That’s my way out of this world. I mean, I’m stuck in a pink room!” I thought. I started to panic. I mean wouldn’t you panic if you would be stuck in a random room? Although, not only was the plate questionable, the fork was looking very suspicious. It looked like it was a… key! I quickly grabbed the key and unlocked the plate to find a small hole, about the size of a rabbit hole. How in the world was I supposed to fit in there? I tried to squeeze my head into the hole, but found out that it was useless. I quickly remembered the salt I saw when I started to hallucinate. I reached for the salt and before I dropped the salt into the hole, to see where it would land, I saw a note. The note read, “Eat me”. There was no other option to do, other than eat salt, so I did so. I wasn’t too bad. In fact, It tasted like vanilla extract. Weird… Anyway, as soon as I took a little bite of the salt, I started to shrink. I immediately fell down the hole and landed on my bed. Finally, at home. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. It hurts. Wait. If I am awake, did all of that just happen??? It’s so confusing… I wonder what would happen if I were a robot. Would I die once I touched water? Would I not shrink? Would I just never wake up. Anyway, I would prefer… not to know. I’m tired, I haven’t slept the entire night. Bye- Zzz..

    1. Hi Annika, students are not able to change the picture that is assigned to them. We have set it up this way, so that only the Enrichment teachers show their picture and you can see that we are real people monitoring the blog.

  8. Hi, my name is Evan, I sent all my February work already, and I didn’t find any of my comments get posted even though I saw other students posts. I just want to make sure all my work got to you already, thanks.

    1. Hi Evan! I saw your comments and they’re great!
The reason that you aren’t seeing those comments is that they are responses to this month’s (February’s) posts where there is a ‘correct’ answer. You’ll see comments to posts where there are many possible answers (ie. Creative Thinking), but we don’t like to give away the answers until the end of the month.
You’ll see your comments as well as everyone else’s and the answer at the end of February!
