RED READING BOOK (The poems will be posted at the bottom of this page!)
Each week the children will be given a new poem to put in their Red Reading Books. We will explore the poems together in class. We will use these poems to review spelling, punctuation and grammar rules. As well, we will practise specific reading strategies with these poems. I will be posting the new poem from the Red Reading Book on this page each Friday. Please encourage your child to share the poems with the family. Practise the poems nightly. |

HOME READING PROGRAM Your child will be participating in our grade one to three Shadow’s Home Reading Program. Everyday, your child will select a book from individually assigned levelled bins. Please read these books with your child each day and return the books on the next day. Talk about the books and make it an enjoyable experience. This program is extremely important. It can make a profound difference in your child’s development as a reader. Books will be exchanged every day! ***Please continue your daily “bedtime” stories!!!! |
