Dear Families,

We have had many thefts in our classroom over the course of this school year. In the past week, a loonie used on a money chart as a tactile learning tool was taken. It was recovered and returned to its rightful place. This afternoon it was taken again. I apologize for keeping the class beyond the bell. I needed students to check their belongings. The loonie wasn’t found, but I couldn’t hold up waiting buses and parents any longer. Please help me by checking your child’s belongings at home. It is possible that the loonie is in a person’s belonings unbeknownst to them. It will either have a circular velcro piece on the back, or it will be sticky due to the velcro being peeled off. Any information you have about this will be helpful to me.

I am currently clearning out all of my personal belongings from the classroom. When we return to school, I will request that all personal belongings be kept at home other than returning pencil cases. Scissors and compasses have been used inappropriately and are unsafe in our classroom. Please continue to keep them at home.

After March Break, I will be posting learning materials in Google Classroom and our Virtual Learning Environment. Let me know if you are having trouble logging in. I am happy to assist you.

Have a great March Break and stay healthy!
