This week we read the book How I Spent My Summer Vacation.  We created a planning web about 4 things we did this summer.  Then we chose our favourite summer event and wrote a story about it.  Our story had to have 4 details about the event.  For example, if our favourite part of summer was going to the beach then we might write about swimming, making sand castles, going for a walk and eating ice cream.   After writing the story we used a ‘self-correct’ checklist to make sure our sentences began with capital letters, end with punctuation and we have spaces between our words.

Some students didn’t get finished today and they are bringing this home to work on over the weekend.  Please ask your son/daughter if they have this to finish.  They only need to complete the top half of the self correct sheet.

Please have them return their writing on Monday.  We will be getting together with a partner to work on peer editing.
