My name is Lori Loft and I have been teaching for 31 years. I have the privilege of teaching core (English, history and geography) to your child this year.

I started my career with the WRDSB at Centennial Senior Public School in Waterloo teaching English, history, physical education and health to grade 7 & 8s. This opportunity afforded me the luxury to work with many experienced teachers and to develop my skills in the classroom and gymnasium. I also worked 10 years at Lincoln Heights Public School, a JK to grade 8 school where I taught grade 7 & 8 English 5, 6, 7 & 8 physical education, grade 6 art and worked part time as a guidance counsellor. There is something special about reading buddies with kindergarten and grade eight students; it is really magical.

William G. Davis has been home for 11 years and I feel so fortunate to be part of such a dynamic staff. This is one of the most caring, dedicated and supportive staff I have ever worked with. Your child is so lucky. It is a challenging time in education with the COVID-19 pandemic but it is also an exciting time with the rapid change of technology, so your child can look forward to some innovative teaching and learning.

Outside of teaching my life is filled with family and friends. My husband Tyrone and I are blessed with 3 amazing children: Sierra graduated university this year and our set of twins, Quinton and Marley, are heading into fourth year. We have two wonderful Portuguese Water Dogs, affectionately known as Fizz and Porsha. We reside in Waterloo but like to travel to see friends or family. We love to watch our kids play sports and can often be found on a field hockey pitch or a volleyball court. We spent lots of time this summer on the trails with our dogs or on the water with our kayaks.

Other than teaching, my interests and passions include: family, travel, metal smithing, sports (all kinds), reading, especially young adult fiction, photography (I am amateur but I love it), art and kayaking.
