This hockey year will be exciting as teams pick up new players from the NHL 2022 Draft for the journey toward the Stanley Cup and being named the champion. 

The hopes are high for the senators as the team gets a great leader to lead the young players to victory, even if they have a bumpy start to the season. They are also making great plays on the ice and creating chances.  

Things do not look good for the Toronto Maple Leafs and their goaltender Matt Murray because he has a track record of getting injured quickly and badly in both Ottawa and Pittsburgh, also costing the team money, and still, the maples leaf get him. Now it will cost them because he was announced on the injured reserve right before the game with Ottawa Senators. However, the advantage is that now they have a higher salary cap and could be calling some players/goalies from the AHL.

Many teams, such as the Florida Panthers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes, have started the season with back-to-back wins. As a result, all these teams have many goal-scoring opportunities, and the players use them to get on the leaderboard. These teams also have excellent goal scores.  

Some teams have trouble succeeding or scoring goals/winning games, such as Tampa Bay Lighting, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. They get good chances but cannot convert them into goals or winning chances. The cause of this could be because lack of leadership or teamwork or communication with each other.  

Though this is the season’s start, we can expect new things from each team and each player. Many teams could make surprising moves before the trade deadline. At the beginning of the season, you can not predict what team will win the cup this year. From my point of view, this will be an exciting season.
