Welcome to September 2017-2018 in Mrs. Johnston’s Grade 5 class at Mackenzie King in Room One. The summer has been lovely and now it is time to get back to the routines of school and learning in a formal setting. We have lots of new students and talented new staff to start the year off. And of course, I have a new classroom to decorate with my students. First day of school will find it a little bit boring, but your children will rectify that in no time at all. 

This is the spot where I will input new information, share communications with parents and students and add the different strands of learning that will take place over the next year. This is my second attempt at creating a webpage, so please be patient with me. These are some of the ways I will be using this space:

• to showcase your child’s work (writing, math, etc.)
• share the dates for upcoming events
• explain teaching points and curriculum information

Hopefully my website journey will help you stay informed about your child’s learning. I will also be using Google Classroom in an effort to reduce paper and become more interactive with both the students and the parents.
