December Evaluation Updates

Students will be bringing home a summary of recent evaluations in French, Heath, and Drama.  The summary includes marks for evaluations completed in November and December as well as an estimated achievement level for each subject based on all assessments to date.  You will also notice a list of recent homework checks (1 = complete, 0 = incomplete).

Please sign and return the evaluation summary.  These summaries are intended to keep students and families informed and help encourage improvement, as needed, ahead of the term 1 report cards.  I appreciate your questions and feedback so please let me know if you would like to discuss your student’s progress.

Writing/Grammar Test

We will have a written test this Tuesday, December 19.  We have been working hard in class to improve the accuracy of our writing in French.  Practising outside of class is important to help us memorize the concepts we have studied.  Students should be able to show you their checklist of topics learned in class as well as where they are in their own progress.  

To help, we have discussed and practiced several study strategies, including:

• online tools, such as Quizlet
• making flashcards
• using study notes
• practicing with worksheets
• reviewing mistakes and correcting them

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I am available to offer extra-help during nutrition break, Monday to Thursday.
