The Daily 5 is a way of organizing our Reader’s and Writer’s workshop. It allows students to choose which of the 5 language activities they wish to engage in while the teacher works with individual students or small groups. The 5 choices are: Working with Words, Listen to Reading, Read to Self, Read to Other and Writing. The Daily 5 encourages students to work independently for longer periods of time and creates a sense of community within the classroom.
