Gr. 11 Entrepreneurship

Course Description: This course focuses on how entrepreneurs recognize opportunities, generate ideas, and organize resources to plan successful ventures that enable them to achieve their goals.  Students will learn about values, traits, and skills most often associated with successful entrepreneurial activity. A self-analysis, exploration, and inventory of one’s own interests and abilities will be completed.  Students will meet and study current entrepreneurs, compete in a business simulation, and participate in the hands-on venture creation process, by planning running a venture event of their choosing. Participation in DECA is highly recommended to enrich and further develop business skills and aptitudes.
