Hi Friends,

Welcome back to our 2021-22 school year, I’m Mr. Little.

For your mornings in Room 13, I’ll be your teacher. I’ll be teaching you Math, Science, Social Studies, the Arts, and Gym during our time together.

In the afternoons, Ms. Aultman will be teaching you Language and a little bit of Health while I’ll be working with other students in the school in my role as Special Education Resource Teacher.

This is my second year at Alpine PS but my fourteenth year as a teacher. I’m very excited to get to know each and every one of you.

This year, in the case of any school closures, we’ll be maintaining a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where student activities and assignments will be posted throughout the year. Hopefully we don’t have to pivot to remote learning, but in the case that we do, the VLE will be a place that students are already familiar with.

To stay up to date, please make sure to sign up for School Day, which Alpine staff use to communicate with parents and guardians on a regular basis.  If you aren’t already on School Day, please speak to someone in the office and they can help connect you.

As a class, we’re also very active on Instagram and Twitter. Please follow us there if you’d like to see updates throughout the day from our classroom. We’ll post things like work we’re proud of, what we’re learning, activities we’re trying out, and other stuff from our regular classroom life. It’s a great way to feel connected to our classroom this year!

We also have a YouTube channel where we regularly post Math lessons that we’re working on. This is helpful for students who need to later review a concept they’re having trouble with; they can re-watch the lesson right in class or at home. It’s also a great way for parents to become engaged in their student’s math learning; as parents, you can see exactly what your student in learning in math and how to help them!

All important announcements will go out through School Day.

While we had hoped that the pandemic would be over by now, 2021-22 will definitely be a bit of a different year, again. Please contact me at any time via e-mail or phone if there’s any way I can support your student, any concern you have, or anything you ever need to talk about.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic, I have incredibly high hopes for this year to be your student’s best year ever.

Your partner in education,

Mr. Keith Little.
