Hello Friends of Room 2

If you have not had a chance to send in a set of headsets, please do so as soon as you can.  Remember that our first field trip is coming this Friday afternoon.  We will be going to the Huron Natural Centre so please dress for the weather.  We will be outside rain or shine!

We have been very busy here in Grade 2.  Students have been writing recounts of there own personal experiences.  They have completed several plans, drafts and we have begun to self edit, peer edit and teacher edit.  There are a few students who have completed their good copies.  As they are finished they are being shared on the bulletin board outside of our classroom.  If you have a chance you can drop by and read some of our writing.

In preparation for our trip to the Natural Centre we have been studying the growth and changes in animals.  Students have begun to learn about some animal classifications.  As we learn more about how to classify different animals we will be doing some individual research on an animal of their choice.  This is always a fun activity.

We have been looking at patterns in Math.  Students are asked to create patterns with 2 attributes such as colour and size.  We are also looking at growing and shrinking patterns and will end our exploration with addition and subtraction patterns in numbers.
