Welcome to Grade 2 with Mrs. McLean!

I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach your child. I understand the beginning of school brings lots of excitement and some nervousness. I hope this letter will help you know what to expect this year in Room 2. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle with a “leak proof” opening, to school everyday. I will encourage them to keep water on their desk to drink throughout the day. 

Students will eat at their desk in the classroom and all garbage and leftovers will be packed back inside their lunch box. Thank you for sending healthy, nutritious lunches. 

 

Volunteers 

Please contact me if you are able to volunteer in our classroom or around the school. If you like to work with students or do something on your own we have opportunities where you can help out. 

 

Scholastic Book Orders 

Each month a book order will be sent to Scholastic Book Services. If you wish your child to order books, please fill out the order form and return it to the classroom. Payment can now be done online at the scholastic site or you can send a cheque with the order form. 

 

School Supplies 

Please make sure your child has a pair of indoor running shoes to be left here at school. Sending in a box of tissue is greatly appreciated. All necessary supplies will be provided except a pencil case. If you would like to send your child with markers or pencil crayons they can use them in the class. I will ask that no personal pencil sharpeners or pencils with plastic wrapping come to school.

I want all students to feel that home and school are sharing.  Please feel welcome to stop by the school, phone or write a note in the planner with any questions or concerns.  Weekly newsletters and monthly calendars will be posted on our website – please visit the website weekly for updates and calendar information. https://teachers.wrdsb.ca/mcleanr/ .  You are encouraged to subscribe to the site so you will be notified when new information is posted.  Unfortunately planners have been delayed for about 2 weeks at the printers. When they arrive we will hand them out.
