Learning goals

Oral: We are learning to use visual and verbal cues to understand what we hear (e.g., gestures, facial expressions, tone of voice and pictures)

Reading: We are learning to read a few songs aloud (e.g., “Bonjour la classe” and “Comment ça va?”) using correct pronunciation and fluency.

Writing: We are learning to write the new vocabulary.

Success Criteria

• I can repeat the words I hear

•I can repeat the gestures I see

•I can look at Madame’s face and listen to her expression and hints to try to understand the meaning of new words and phrases

•I can look at picture clues to help me understand meaning

•I can read the songs with fluency

•I can read the songs aloud using correct pronunciation and expression
