If you’re looking for a FREE printable or digital version of a book to read with your child that will explain some of the changes that may be a part of school re-opening after COVID-19 closures, please click on the link above or one of the links below that best matches your home language.
If you have a google account, please feel free to FILE-MAKE A COPY for your own editable version to adapt for your own child’s needs. Children with Autism, high sensitivity, or anxiety can benefit greatly from highly visual social narratives, as can younger children, newcomers, children who have lived through trauma, and others who just need a little support to understand changing rules and upcoming transitions. My hope is that this book can help to prepare students for the changes ahead.
We do not yet know what school will look like in the Fall in Waterloo Region. Once we have more direction from the Ministry of Education and Public Health, the books will be updated to reflect that new information. You can also keep a digital copy of the book as a template, and edit it to reflect your own child’s unique circumstances.
